tecmekauto asked:
I need to get some 2×4’s and some 2×6’s, I Was wanting to get better at carpentry, but I dont really have much time in class to do much. so I was thinking about buying some wood on the internet, but I dont know what would be the best wood to use, or even a site to buy the wood from. Also, it would mainly just be some PoS’s that I make, so it wont be very good, it is just that I need some wood and stuff.

I’m not sure where you are building:
Building Resources on 3rd in SF (as you approach Bay View near the recycling center) will have a varied array of recycled building materials at a fraction of the cost.
Beronio along Bayshore Boulevard has more expensive but attractive wood options for the finishing stages. Also, excellent stains.
Callahan’s on Bayshore Boulevard has doors at discount, often they will have old fireplace mantels that have been removed from old victorians being restored, and wood, dowels, and crown mouldings galore.

I don’t think it wise to bother buying 2by4 and such online.Your local lumber company will be glad to sell you a few sticks.
